Introduction


Suzhou Chien-shiung Institute of Technology is an institution named after the world-renowned nuclear physicist—Wu Jianxiong. The school is located in Taicang City, Jiangsu Province, and is a public full-time higher vocational college, as well as a construction unit of Jiangsu Province's model higher vocational colleges.

The college's predecessors were Jiangsu Province Taicang Normal School, founded in 1907, and Taicang Radio and Television University, founded in 1979. In 2004, Jiangsu Province Taicang Normal School, Taicang Radio and Television University, and Jiangsu Taicang Vocational Education Center School were integrated and upgraded to establish Jianxiong Vocational and Technical College. In 2014, Jianxiong Vocational and Technical College was renamed Suzhou Chien-shiung Institute of Technology.

As of May 2026, the school covers a total area of nearly 700 mu, with a building area of 175,000 square meters. There are more than 9,900 full-time students and over 500 faculty and staff. The college has 10 teaching institutions and offers 39 higher vocational programs.
