Shenyang City University

Shenyang City University (SYCU), approved by the State Ministry of Education, is a full-time higher education institute providing undergraduate programs. SYCU, originally known as Technology and Engineering College of Shenyang University, was found in 2001. SYCU is located in Shenyang Green Island Forest Park, covering more than 690,000 square meters with building area of 280,000 square meters. SYCU now offers 39 undergraduate programs covering 7 disciplines including Science, Engineering, Humanities, Law, Economics, Management and Art to the current 11,000 registered students from the national enrollment target areas of  21 provinces (municipals and autonomous regions). The university now has 10 education units, including School of  Intelligent Engineering, School of Architecture and Civil Engineering, School of Journalism and Communication, School of Television Media, School of  Language and Culture, School of Hotel Management , School of Business ,School of General Education, School of Marxism and School of International.

The strategic goal of SYCU is building a characteristic application-oriented higher education institute with international perspective and extensive application of information technology, facing the future of the city and serving the municipal development. The School of International Education of Shenyang City University (SYCU) commits itself to cultivating high-quality foreign students with broad international perspectives, a clear grasp of Chinese culture and highly specialized professional skills. Upholding the teaching and service concept of total immersion in Chinese culture, SYCU integrates the management of foreign students into the university’s teaching and service system. Aiming at promoting the communication and exchange between Chinese and foreign students, the School of International Education creates a “global village” within the university, of which students can take full advantage to improve their language ability in a harmonious social atmosphere.
